This software has a scan scheduler and it provides full driver details, even without a registered copy of the software. With the scan results you can view driver IDs, compatible IDs, version date, version number and the file size. We like to see this kind of full disclosure in driver updater software, since you can easily see if they really can provide you with the most up-to-date drivers.

What this PC driver updater fails to include is backup and restoration tools. Backup tools are important since they save driver versions, and backup functions can save driver files to a disc or USB device so the drivers can be migrated to another PC. Restore tools allow you to revert to a previous driver file if the new one does not work properly.

With Driver Navigator you have to backup your driver files on your own in case you need to revert to a previous version. However, you can use Windows 7 to restore driver versions. Simply open the control panel, go to device manage, find the device, click on the device and then driver. Once you get to the driver tool you can select “Roll Back Driver.”
